Description

1971 MG B Roadster – Rare Bedouin Beige | Overdrive | Exceptional Throughout

Finished in the rare factory colour Bedouin Beige, this beautifully presented 1971 MGB Roadster is an outstanding example of one of Britain's most iconic sports cars. One of the less common factory colours available during the chrome bumper era, Bedouin Beige perfectly complements the car's black mohair hood, chrome brightwork and tan interior.

First registered in 1971, this MGB has covered 59,400 miles and is offered with an MOT until 17th March 2027. Purchased by its current owner in May 2019, the car has clearly been cherished and is only being offered for sale due to ill health.

Presented in exceptional condition throughout, the bodywork is straight, the paintwork has an excellent finish, the chrome is bright, and the underside is completely rust-free and beautifully preserved. The black mohair hood, complete with a heated glass rear window, is in excellent condition and provides improved durability and visibility over the original specification.

Inside, the tan interior is equally impressive, with refurbished seat foams and webbing providing excellent comfort while maintaining the classic appearance of the cabin.

Mechanically, the car is exactly as an MGB should be. Powered by the reliable 1.8-litre B-Series engine and coupled to the desirable four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, it starts on the button, runs smoothly throughout the rev range and delivers the engaging driving experience that has made the MGB one of Britain's best-loved sports cars.

A particular highlight is the extensive history file, containing invoices and records documenting servicing, maintenance and upgrades from 2019 through to the present day. Significant work includes:

Full suspension refresh with polyurethane bushes
New front stub axles, bottom trunnions and wheel bearings
New front and rear shock absorbers
AccuSpark electronic ignition with new distributor and coil
Reconditioned gearbox (2022)
New clutch, release bearing and clutch release arm
New gearbox and engine mountings
Replacement starter motor
Rear brake shoes
Quality mohair hood with heated glass rear screen
Numerous additional maintenance items including steering, lighting, braking and suspension components

The MGB was introduced in 1962 and went on to become Britain's best-selling sports car, with over half a million examples produced. The 1971 model is firmly within the highly desirable chrome bumper generation, renowned for its classic styling, lighter weight and superb driving characteristics.

This is a genuine turnkey classic that wants for nothing. Beautifully presented, exceptionally well maintained and supported by an outstanding documented history, it represents an excellent opportunity to acquire one of the finest chrome bumper MGB Roadsters available.
