1966 Daimler 250 V8 Convertible - Project
For Sale – 1966 Daimler 250 Convertible
Same caring owner for over 30 years!
Originally a Daimler 250 V8 saloon, this elegant example was professionally converted to a convertible in the early 1980s — and the workmanship has stood the test of time.
The car presents beautifully, with tidy clean lines, a like-new soft top, and original seats that showcase the charm of the era. Having been garaged its entire life, there's no rust to be found.
The engine does smoke a little on start-up, but this clears after a short while. The motor and gearbox are strong, and we've priced the car accordingly to allow for an engine refresh if desired.
On the road, the Daimler handles firmly and drives and brakes in a straight line. The interior is tidy and presents very well — a credit to its long-term ownership.
Although not a factory convertible, this 1966 Daimler 250 retains all the classic British style, grace, and character that make it a true head-turner wherever it goes.
This is an ideal starter classic — a car that can be enjoyed as-is or lightly restored to bring it back to its full prime.
About the Daimler 250
The Daimler 250 V8, introduced in 1962, was based on the Jaguar Mk2 and powered by Daimler's smooth 2.5-litre V8 engine — renowned for its refinement and effortless performance. It combined Jaguar's sports saloon handling with Daimler's luxury craftsmanship, creating one of the most desirable compact British classics of the 1960s.
